The nameplate outside RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s residence in Patna which carried the title “Bihar Deputy CM” has been covered by newspapers following Nitish Kumar’s latest switch. The nameplate was seen covered by newspapers the day after Nitish Kumar took oath as Bihar Chief Minister after ditching his alliance with the RJD and staking claim to form an NDA government in the state.
In his first reaction to the political turmoil in the state, Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday claimed the Janata Dal United will “be finished in 2024”. He had also warned that the “game has just begun” and a lot is yet to happen.
The former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister had also called Nitish Kumar a “tired CM” and said the latter “had no vision”. “We made him do so much work,” added Yadav.
His sister, Rohini Acharya, also took a dig at Nitish Kumar over his change of allies and said the “garbage is now back in the bin”.
Nitish Kumar, meanwhile, said he was ‘back to where he was’ after he took oath for a record ninth time.
“Now I am back where I was before (in NDA) and now there is no question of going anywhere,” the JD(U) chief said on Sunday.
He also reacted to Tejashwi Yadav’s statement that the JD(U) would be “finished in 2024”, and said, “We work for the development and progress of Bihar. We will keep doing the same, nothing else. Tejashwi was not doing anything.”
